Did you know that extended exposure to the sun can affect your extensions? It can cause them to become dry and brittle. You need to try and wear a hat or use an extension-safe sunscreen. Avoid sunscreen with Avobenzone. That can cause your extensions to turn pink. Keep in mind that other people have that on their skin when you get into a pool, and it will float on top of the water. You can also get an overspray from people spraying it beside you.
Also, use a leave-in conditioner to create a barrier when getting into chlorine or saltwater. It is best to try and wear your hair up in these situations but if you do get either in your hair rinse it thoroughly to remove any chemicals or salt.
Use a moisturizing deep conditioner (not repairing) once a week to help prevent dryness. Lightweight hydrating products are better for your extensions, not heavy oils.
Remember to use a lightweight detangler to brush out your hair with a wet brush. Starting at the bottom working your way up. Make sure to brush in between the wefts.
When sleeping use, a silk pillowcase to reduce friction and wear your hair in a loose bun or a loose braid to prevent tangling.
Always be sure to keep up your regular appointments for maintenance.
